Pranic Healing: Sleep Inducing Mantra

I believe the greatest asset a head of state can have is the ability to get a good night’s sleep.
— Harold Wilson

As long as we are young and healthy, our sleep comes to us as soon as we lay our head in the pillow and that sleep is deep and heavenly and when we get up in the morning ,we feel so fresh to say ‘yes’ to the New Day. And sleep is as natural to man as breathing or eating and is the most restorative tonic when we are tired.

At my present age of 66 years, luckily I am able to get sound sleep for seven hours but, when ever I do not get sleep,I imagine myself lying in the lap of Heavenly Fairy of Sleep which lulls me to sleep. I invoke the goddess of sleep by seeing HER in between the two eye brows, by keeping the eyes closed, thus :-

O, sleep, O, my Sweet fairy of sleep
Take me into your bosom
And make me asleep
I beseech thee
O, heavenly sleep
Make me worry free
Want to sleep
Want to sleep
Lull me to sleep” — Author

And so, I go to sleep. But sometimes, it so happens that more we think of sleep, more difficult it becomes for us to get into sleep. This happens when we are tense and sleeplessness makes us more tense. Take sleep as your friend as in the above poem, sweetly surrender into her lap and soon you will get into sleep.

Another ways is to take the help of a friendly thought which goads us to sleep i.e. the hypnotic sleep inducing mantra — “Want to sleep”.

1) Inhale softly and inwardly with = WANT
Exhale softly and inwardly with = TO SLEEP
Another mantra which simulates the natural breathing is SAUNM/MEE

2) Inhale with = SAUNM by speaking inwardly.
Exhale with = MEE by speaking inwardly.
This is simplest and best sleep inducing mantra. The word ‘M’ helps to produce the pacifying harmone-melatonin to give peace and induce sleep.

3) Another sleep inducing mantra is — SHANTEESH
Inhale by inwardly speaking with = SHANT Exhale by inwardly speaking with = TEESH

4) Another breathing mantra which is very soft and gives the hypnotic effect to get us into sleep is :-
Exhale softly with = ‘I AM ASLEEP’ by speaking inwardly.
Then inhale softly without any inhale mantra.

5) Another similar hypnotising mantra in Hindi for inducing sleep is :-
Exhale with = DAI SOONIEND
Inhale with = SANAND or SDA-ANAND

And if you are not getting sleep due to overeating which happens some times, try to sleep on your left side. This will open up the right nostril, which is the hot (Sun) Breath. This gives heat to our body to digest the food.

And also. Inhale with = WARRANT
Exhale with = TO SLEEP – by speaking inwardly.

Normally we do not add the word R in any sleep inducing mantra, Because R increases the metabolic rate, but it helps when we have over – eaten. And if it is cold season, we should supplement it by covering our abdomen with a warm blanket, in order to retain the heat in the abdomen to digest the food. And a few inhalations and exhalations with the breathing mantra – ‘Warrant to Sleep’ will induce us to sleep, as if we have sent a warrant to the goddess of sleep, to invoke her benign presence.

7) And last, but not the least, the simplest breathing mantra which simulates the natural breathing and is the most non-violent to breathe is SAN- INS

Inhale with = SAN or SMAN
Exhale with = IENS or MSEEN

And while inhaling and exhaling with the above mantra, if we can watch our breath as it goes in and goes out either at the nose tip or at the abdomen’s Navel point – its rise and fall with the breath, we will soon be overlapped in deep sleep. This mantra also stimulates the crown chakra and pineal gland with its seed word M & the pineal gland releases the pacifying Hormone-Melatonin for inducing sleep.

8) Another beautiful and easy method to get sleep without the mantra is to watch, while sleeping, into the darkness between the two eyebrows while our eyes are closed and lo!, you are already in deep sleep.

In order to get good sleep, we must not overload our stomach at night and keep at least 1 /3rd of our stomach empty for the oxygen and the pranic life energy to digest the food properly. Some persons are habituated to take a glass of hot milk before going to sleep. That helps because milk contains Tryptophan- an amino acid needed to make serotonin in the brain which brings about sleep.

On the other hand, alcohol, smoking, taking lots of cups of tea/coffee will cause sleeplessness as well as the quality of sleep will not be deep and peaceful. The above breathing mantras will definitely induce you to get into sleep. We have given eight sleep inducing mantras; choose anyone which suits your temperament.

Let the goddess of sleep be with you at night or let it be the goddess of your Love- your Heart-Throb – a dynamic Ecstatic love session is the most natural way to get into the blissful kingdom of sound sleep.
