Homeopathy: Homeopathic Remedies for Threatened Abortion, Mastitis (Inflamation of Breasts) and Painful Menstruation

ABORTION (threatened)

Abortion (threatened): APIS First month Kali carb. 2nd or 3rd month .APIS : Fourth month (due to Incompetent Os).- Give 1OM two or three doses at six hourly intervals. Gelsemium : Abortion from emotions; bad news; fright.

MASTITIS (inflammation of breasts)

Belladonna – Incipient stage of mammary abscess. Breasts hard, swollen, feel heavy. (Bry). Inflammation with red streaks running in radii. Trobbing pain; pains appear and disappear suddenly. Aggravation from least jar.

Bryonia – Mammae heavy with stony hardness; pale, hot and painful. Must support the breasts (Phly).

Phytolacca – Mammae full of hard painful nodosities. Mammae hard, swollen, burning and painful. Breasts show an early tendency to cake; full, stony hard and painful, especially when suppuration is inevitable. When child nurses pain goes from nipple all over body (Goes to back; Crot. tig. – to uterus : Puis., Sil). Almost a specific for “caked breast”. Often indicated after Bryonia.

PAINFUL MENSTRUATION (Dysmenorrhoea)

Belladonna – Spasmodic, neuralgic pains appear and disappear suddenly. Sensitive to jar, noise and light (Photophobia).

Calcarea carb. – Mental excitement brings on dysmenorrhoea or causes menses to return. Menses too profuse and too long lasting with toothache and cold damp feet.

Chamomilla – Horrible pains, crying and screaming; “can’t bear the pain”. Cimicifuga The more the flow the more the pain.

Colocynthis – Spasmodic, neuralgic pains; better bending double on the abdomen (pressure).

Ipecacuanha – Extreme pain with nausea and vomiting.

Lachesis – The menses scanty, of short duration; The smaller the flow the greater the pain. Pain relieved by proper flow.

Magnesia phos. – Extreme spasmodic neuralgic pain better from warm applications.

Psorinum – Extreme pain during menopause.

Pulsatilla – Pain from getting wet; menses scanty, delayed.
