Homeopathy Medicines: Characteristics of Eupatorium Perfoliatum, Gelsemium and Graphites

EUPATORIUM PERFOLIATUM

INTERMITTENT FEVER : Chill at: 9 a.m. one day, at noon the next day; accompanied by thirst and INTENSE ACHING IN ALL THE BONES, as if they were broken. This is followed by HEAT and an increase in the aching; and this by scanty or profuse SWEAT. – INSATIABLE THIRST beforeand during the CHILL and FEVER – Knows the chill is coming because he cannot drink enough.

Vomits water or food that has been taken, OR Bile, as the CHILL PASSES OFF. Great prostration in epidemic INFLUENZA. Very restless cannot keep still (though wants to do so), which is NOT RELIEVED by motion.

GELSEMIUM

Bad effects of fright, fear, exciting news and sudden emotion. The anticipation of any unusual ordeal (preparing to meet an engagement, appearing for examination) brings on diarrhoea (Arg.n.) Children; fear of falling, grasp the crib or seize the nurse.

General depression from heat of sun or summer. Weakness and trembling; of tongue, hands or legs, of the entire body. Lack of muscular co-ordination, confused; muscles refuse to obey the Will. Headache : worse from mental exertion, heat of sun. Better from profuse flow of urine.

Aggravation
: Mental exertion, bad news (diarrhoea), when spoken to of his loss. THIRSTLESSNESS in all complaints. Paralysis which begins with fever (POLIOMYELITIS); Chills run up and down the back. Prostration of the muscular system, leading to complete paralysis.

GRAPHITES

Leucorrhoea acrid, excoriating, occurs in gushes day and night. Hard cicatrices remaining after mammary abscesses retarding the flow of milk. SKIN : Unhealthy, every injury suppurates. Eruptions upon various parts of body from which oozes a watery, transparent, sticky fluid. Nails bridle, deformed, ulcerated. Cracks in ends of fingers, nipples, labial commissures, of anus, between toes.
