SULPHUR
When carefully selected remedies fail to produce a favourable effect; rouses the reactive powers, clears up the case in acute disease (Chronic disease: Psor). When complaints continually relapse. Everything (even rags) look beautiful if he takes a fancy. Standing is the worst position. Dirty people prone to skin affections (Psor). Lean stoop-shouldered who walks or sits stooped.
Offensive odour of body despite frequent bathing. Painless diarrhoea drives out of bed in the morning. Weak, empty feeling in stomach about II a.m. Drunkards “reform” but continually relapse. Cold feet in daytime, with burning soles at night. Redness of all orifices, (lips, eyes, rectum) of the body.
Itching eruptions on the skin everywhere; scratching is followed by burning. Burning onvertex; burning everywhere : eyes, tongue, in stomach, rectum, haemorrhoids, anus, vagina nipples. (Burning trio of Nash : Ars., Phos., Sulph). Facilitates absorption of serous or inflammatory exudates in brain, pleura, lungs, joints when Bryonia or Kali mur or best selected remedy fails. Drinks much; eats little. Craves sweets. Sleepy during the day, wakeful at night. Indifferent to personal appearance; a “ragged philosopher”.
SYMPHYTUM
Excellent remedy for fracture and mechanical injuries. Facilitates union of fractured bones (Calc. ph); lessens peculiar pricking pains; favours production of callous. Irritability at point of fracture, periosteal pain after wounds have healed. Thrusts on the globe of the eye. Infant thrusts its fist into its mother’s eye.
SYPHILINUM
Pains from evening (twilight) to daylight (morning). All symptoms worse at Night (Merc). Pains increase and decrease gradually (Stann); shifting pains, require frequent change of position. Craving for alcohol in any form (hereditary). Falling of hair. Acute ophthalmia neonatorum; pain intense at night from 2 to 5 a.m. Better by cold bathing.
Teeth decay, dwarfed, converge at their tips. Rheumatism of the shoulder joint; worse raising arm laterally. Leucorrhoea profuse, soaking through the napkin.Sleeplessness, absolute from nightly pains. Asthma with intense sleeplessness on lying down at night. Constipation obstinate. Violent bone pains.
TARENTULA CUBENSIS
Magical action in the most terrible burning stinging pains in gangrene, carbuncle, even sloughing with great prostration and diarrhoea. Intermittent fever of evening aggravation. Purplish hue with the above pains is characteristic (Lach., Anfhrac., Sil). Burbonic plague : Preventive and curative. Retention of urine.
