Magnet Therapy: Some Do’s and Don’ts in Diagnosis and Treatment

It is apparently quite easy to stimulate healing by applying magnets to the body. But, before that, let us look at some basic principles.

• The South Pole stimulates and promotes healing, growth and activity.
• The North Pole calms, sedates and reduces inflammation.
• Don’t treat tumours, cancers or infections with the South Pole at the site of the problem. Since the South Pole stimulates growth, it could stimulate the growth of cancer cells, bacteria or viruses.
• Pregnant women shouldn’t be treated around the uterus.
• Those with pacemakers shouldn’t be treated with magnets around the chest area.
• Don’t use strong magnets around the head, neck, glands or organs for long periods of time everyday.
• Don’t treat a condition with magnetism if it worsens when either polarity is applied.

Remember, you can treat any condition with magnets. There are rarely any harmful side effects. But magnetic therapy doesn’t seem to help bacterial infections once they have established their presence in the human body.

All biomagnetic aids should be kept away from fire. The patient should preferably avoid anything cold for an hour after the use of belly and knee belts. They shouldn’t bathe either for an hour after their use.

The best time for magnetic treatment is in the morning. Early risers can bathe before the treatment and have breakfast after it. It is best to avoid cold food and drink for an hour after applying high-powered magnets. Hot food and drink is allowed. High-powered magnets should not be used immediately after a full meal. Unless watches are magnet-proof, they should not be allowed to come in contact with magnets.

If a magnet or pole has been incorrectly selected or applied for an undue length of time, any adverse effect can be neutralised by laying both palms or both feet on a zinc plate.

As we have mentioned earlier and will continue to emphasise in the pages to follow, the duration of treatment differs from person to person and the severity of the ailment. But, generally, some improvement is noticed in a few weeks. If there is no relief at all, then a second opinion should be taken.

Research has proved beyond doubt that the human body is made up of tiny cells, which are tiny magnets in themselves. For good physical health, the equilibrium in the individual magnetic fields and a balance in the magnetic fields of different organs has to be maintained. Any disturbance or abnormal fluctuation in the magnetic field of a particular organ or organs will result in an ailment. A single organ disrupted could well result in the disruption of the whole body.

Normally, all the other systems of medicine introduce chemicals in the form of medication. Magneto-therapy works at the problem by the external application of magnetsto the body supplemented by doses of magnetised water. Magneto-therapy activates the liquids in the body as well as the already existing magnetic fields and electrical impulses. It can be used with other medication. Its essential purpose is to stabilise the magnetic and electrical forces in the body, which are often in a state of disarray considering modern man’s lifestyle, stressors and a variety of other factors.

Magnets influence the whole body. But the blood in the body is most prone to this influence because of its iron content. Most of the iron in the body is in the blood. The remainder is in the muscles. As a result, the blood is immediately activated by the application of magnets. The process of ionisation is hastened, easing the free flow of blood throughout the body. This rejuvenates the system and activates the glands, regularising essential secretions.

The magnet also works on the other liquids and chemicals in the body. It reaches the magnetic fields within the body and works on the body internally. This also improves the generation of electrical impulses, and the entire body is activated.
