Chemical Examination: Tests for altered blood is done.<\/p>\n
Microscopic Examination: This examination is done to look for ova or cyst of the different worms that infest the intestines.<\/p>\n
Examination of Blood<\/p>\n
Routine examinations carried out on blood are:
\n\u00b7 Haemoglobin (Hb)
\n\u00b7 Red blood cell count (RBC)
\n\u00b7 White blood cell count (WBC)
\n\u00b7 Differential white blood cell count (DLC)
\n\u00b7 Erythrocyte sedimentation rate (ESR)
\nOther investigations are:

\n\u00b7 Bleeding time
\n\u00b7 Clotting time
\n\u00b7 Blood group<\/p>\n
Examination of the Sputum<\/p>\n
Sputum in patients may be purulent, containing pus or blood in it. It may be foul smelling.<\/p>\n
Microscopic Examination: The principal value of microscopic examination of the sputum is in the detection of bacteria and recognition of cancer cells in cases of cancer of the lungs.
