Appropriate magnets should be applied under the soles of children before they go to sleep for about ten minutes. Magnets can also be placed on both sides of the bladder.

Polio is still prevalent in India despite massive efforts by the government. A child afflicted with it is crippled for life. For children above two years of age, the North Pole of medium-powered magnets can be applied on the hip of the side affected and the South Pole kept below the sole of the affected side. If both the legs are affected, the right leg may be treated in the morning and the left leg in the evening.

They can also be treated on alternate days.
