I. Water, soda water or green coconut water should be sipped to compensate for loss of fluids. Ice may be sucked to reduce temperature and prevent vomiting. Intravenous infusions of saline solution in case of dehydration.<\/p>\n
II. Green coconut water, barley water and buttermilk may be given after the acute stage. Softened rice mixed with curd may be given after progress towards recovery. More liquid and bland foods may be introduced gradually.<\/p>\n

III. After complete recovery, gradually embark upon a well-balanced diet on the following lines:-<\/p>\n
1. Upon arising:<\/span> A glass of lukewarm water with half a freshly-squeezed lime and a teaspoon of honey.
\n2. Breakfast:<\/span> Fresh fruits such as apple, orange, grapes, papaya, mangoes, a cup of fresh milk, sweetened with honey or buttermilk.
\n3. Lunch:<\/span> A bowl of steamed vegetables, whole wheat chappatis with butter and a glass of buttermilk.
\n4. Mid-afternoon:<\/span> A glass of fresh fruit or vegetable juice or sugarcane juice.
\n5. Dinner:<\/span> A bowl of fresh green vegetable salad, with lime juice dressing, sprouted seeds and fresh home-made cottage cheese or a glass of buttermilk.<\/p>\n
