It is a disease of the tropical countries (as of India). It occurs mostly in summer season. It is a serious disease caused by disturbance in the large intestine, affecting its mucous membrane.

A mucous membrane is provided by nature to many organs to protect them from chemical action in the organs. Inflammation in the bowels causes fever also. The patient begins to pass mucus, blood, etc. from the bowels along with the stools.

In case a suitable treatment is not taken and one is left to the use of medicine, the disease is often seen to recur and becomes chronic. This disease never leaves the body, once it assumes a chronic condition. Thus it should be treated at the onset, as soon as its signs begin to appear.

A treatment by Nature-cure will perfectly cure it.

Treatment

The patient is advised to take complete fast, or else a fast on orange juice. The juice of pomegranate is also useful. Along with that, enema in warm and cold water has to be taken.

Daily hip-bath in cold water is very useful, because the cold effect on the lower abdomen, brings circulation of blood in the larger intestine, thus giving it a purification effect. The same effect can also be had by application of cold cloth or earthen packs on the lower abdomen (below the navel).

All this treatment should continue till the disease is over. In the convalesence period, the diet should have only fruits on the first two days, then followed by light solid diet, barring the use of fat and refined foods. Only natural foods should be taken.

It is a disease of the tropical countries (as of India). It occurs mostly in summer season.
