The use of tobacco products has been a controversial tissue for many years. During the 1550’s, European physicians declared that tobacco should be used only for medicinal purposes. The puritans in America considered it a dangerous narcotic, During the 1960’s scientist established that smoking tobacco products, especially cigarettes, could cause lung cancer, heart disease and other illnesses. Some cigarette manufacturers reacted to the medical findings by reducing tar and nicotine content of cigarettes.
Scurvy is common among the urban poor especially the elderly people whose diet lacks citrus fruits, leafy vegetables and tomatoes. Deficiency occurs due to food fadism and bizarre nutritional practices. Pressure cooking is convenient and a quick method of modern cooking. During fasting the senses become acute. Even a little smell of food can assail your nostrils. During a fast, a person can see better, hear better and think better. The taste buds on the tongue become extra sensitive after the fast. Even simple food tastes good.
